Happy Independence Day!
Independence and freedom are profoundly important to me. I think a lot about what it means to be independent and free, especially as a woman.
Much of my own freedom and independence have come from discovering the ways I was holding myself back and freeing myself of those burdens. I’ve seen that happen with my clients as well.
When you become free of the fears and insecurities and the brain junk that holds you back, you can achieve so much more. You can realize your full potential because you’re no longer holding yourself back.
Suddenly, unencumbered by fear, you can try things that scare you. Absent the brain junk that tells you it’s all or nothing, it becomes okay to try and fail and to be imperfect.
I didn’t get here on my own. I’m here thanks to working with good coaches and therapists over the years who helped me root out why I was holding myself back and learn how to free myself of those obstacles.
Yes, it can be scary to face the demons in your past and in your present. Sometimes it’s not the failure we fear, but the idea that life could actually match our dreams and we could have everything we want.
I used to think about the future and having everything I ever wanted and the limitlessness of it was terrifying. Now I look forward to that feeling because I know all that I can make possible.
Your passion is waiting for your courage to catch up. What are you waiting for?
