A little morbid today, right? Wrong.

I’ve spent most of my life with a healthy awareness of my own mortality. I am always acutely aware of just how finite our time on this earth really is, and thus, how precious.

Don’t get me wrong – sometimes I putz around and waste time. We all do. And you need some downtime sometimes.

But when I lay my head on the pillow for the last time (I like to assume I’ll die peacefully in my sleep), I want to know that I’ve made a difference. I want to know I made the world a little bit better.

What do you want to accomplish before you die? Is it something specific or more general? Do you know? Have you thought about it?

This question, it’s kind of been rebranded as a more palatable “What’s on your bucket list?” which is easier for people to stomach than the spoken reality that a bucket list is actually a list of things you want to do before you die.

I know some people don’t want to think about it. It can be hard. But if you don’t think about it, then before you know it, you’ll be in your 80s and wondering where all the time went.

Do you have a dream? Do you have a goal? Is there something you really want to say, “I did that!” before your time here is up? What’s that thing? And what are you doing today to make sure it happens?
